Apple Cider Amazingness

One of my favorite things about the holiday season are the traditions that we’ve continued over and over throughout the years. The smells, sounds and delicious treats around this time of year that make me know the holidays have arrived! You know what I mean. That thing that you always do that makes you happy!

One of our top family favorites is an easy, but incredible one… the infamous apple cider. Now I’ve seen a ton of ciders with brown sugar and orange juice with floating seasoning bags, but ours is simple yet delicious and it’s a favorite. My mom always has it out on the holidays and we’ve continued it at our house too!

All you need is your choice of apple cider, either a gallon or half gallon. We love the local farm cider, but the ones at the grocery store work well! Pour it into your pot with your cinnamon sticks. The special slow releasing ingredient is the orange. We take about 10 cloves and poke them into the orange before adding it to our mixture. The whole family helps with this one.

Ingredients:

  • Half gallon/Gallon Apple Cider
  • 1-2 whole oranges
  • 2 to 3 Cinnamon sticks
  • Whole cloves

Cook on a Stove top, Crockpot or instant pot for a house full of delicious apple cider! This is our Thanksgiving and Christmas week special drink.

**Adults only – Want to add a little extra something special? Spiced rum, Fireball or Green apple vodka make a perfect drink everyone will remember and even yet with cinnamon/sugar on the rim with an apple slice.
