Reasonably priced family friendly winter activities Winter time is upon us which means the days are shorter, and the nights seen never ending. It’s cold, dark and we’re inside so much we can all get a bit stir crazy. Besides running from basketball games and indoor soccer practices, we’ve become pretty laid back at home. Not only is it harder to find indoor activities near us, It has become increasingly difficult to find family friendly activities that are reasonably priced for the whole family. This can become even more challenging when you’re on a strict budget like we are. Of course we’ve looked into snow tubing, dinner/movie, shows/concerts, escape rooms, and a million other places. After doing all the research and all was said and done, we’d be looking to spend anywhere from $150-200 for our family of four for a few hours. That isn’t something I’m willing to do since we could get an Air BNB or hotel with a pool around here for a similar price.
Lucky for you, I was able to do the research in surrounding areas of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. I searched for activities that were reasonably priced and could extend all day if you wanted it too. I always want more bang for my buck. You can have fun with your family while saving your wallet, promise!
One of our family favorites is the good ol’ Pocono Rocks located in Mt. Pocono. It is a great option. We’ve been there a few times to meet up with friends and for a birthday party. It’s a kid friendly climbing gym that has a large bouldering wall, ninja warrior climbing course, bounce houses and inflatable slide activities. They have all day passes which is incredible with Toddlers (3 and under) being $15 and older kids (4 years+) being $25. They have discounted passes if adults want to join or if your kids are teeny, but otherwise it’s a safe place for you to relax, while the kids have fun! As a bonus, It has a cafe with delicious food and coffee. The woman who owns it is excellent when it comes to food allergies and being flexible with menu items. We had an excellent time and recommend it to everyone.

Another amazing option is the Arcade Era at the Stroud Mall off of 611 in Stroudsburg! It’s another place with an all day entry option. Kids under 4 are free with adult ticket purchase, Kids 4-18 are $15 and adults 19+ are $20. Who doesn’t love classic arcade games, air hockey, skeeball and racing games! We’ve passed this place so many times and are excited to head there this winter. I know my kids would love it!

Now, depending on the age of your kids the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA is an awesome option. As an adult, I’m obsessed with this place. You can make your own crayons, see how they are made, complete tons of crafts and coloring stations and includes a climbing gym for the kids. It is highly interactive and worth it! The price isn’t the cheapest around with it being $26.99 per person over age 4 for the whole day, but their annual passes are $39.99 a person so if you go more than once it’s a reasonably priced activity for everyone all year long! This make a great holiday or birthday present too! We’re huge on activities and experiences over one time gifts and toys.
